Hyrdo-frac'd Up[state]! New York Water

Recently, the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) of New York State released its draft "Supplemental Generic Environmental Impact Statement" (SGEIS) for drilling and hydraulic fracturing in the Marcellus Shale.

Here are three timely links that I like, discussing the extremely negative effects this process has on the environment.

***Damning New Evidence Raises Concerns About Threats to New York's Water From Gas Drilling
- A very informative piece, touched with personal experiences, about New York possibly becoming the next state to become embroiled in a mess of litigation and public outcry over a controversial drilling technique.

***Frac Attack: Dawn of the Watershed
- An 18-minute movie, that you can watch online, with zombies, bad water, and some violence about a frac'd up situation. From the movie page:
"When the town of Ithaca, New York gets fracked by natural gas drilling, the water goes sour and the citizens start craving human flesh. Anna and other survivors band together to save their community."

***Can you do this with your drinking water? [15 second movie clip] (spoiler, the water from the tap catches on fire! still gotta see it to believe it)
